We’ll rise up

I’ve seen it all.

I’ve heard it it all.

My heart can’t handle it no more.

I’m sick of it all.

I watch as they force my brothers to the ground

I watch as they strangle my brothers to death

I watch as my brothers scream for their last breath

I watch as they kill my sisters as well

All forced to the ground

All unarmed

Innocent black people all begging for their lives

Murdered just for the color of their skin

All being accused for something that they didn’t even commit

I watch as their lives are lost in just 9 minutes

I watch as their lives disappear right before my own eyes

I hear the agony in their voices as they beg for mercy from these police officers

This is someone’s father that they’ve killed

This is someone’s Mother that they’ve killed

This is someone’s Uncle or Aunt that they’ve killed

This is someone’s brother or sister that they’ve killed

Somebody’s niece or nephew that they’ve killed

All didn’t have the chance to tell their families good bye.

All didn’t have the tell their families the last “ I LOVE YOU.”

Black people having to bury their family members each and every day

All we deserve is either death or incarceration.

WHY? Why must you treat us like animals?

Why are we being treated differently?

Why are we the ones being viewed as criminals?

What did we do to deserve this?

What is so different about us?

The color of our skins?

When we all shed the same color blood.

Cut a side of your hand

Then cut a side of mine

What do you see?

We are the same.

We are Equal.

At this point, this is unacceptable!

Open your eyes and start noticing it

We can be stronger together.

Rather than us fighting each other.

There’s no need to hate one another

But to love one another.

Let’s make a change.

Because we are strong.

It will takes us years but WE WILL WIN.

But in the meantime, what will you do?

Continue to hunt us down like we’re your prey?

Suffocate us until our hearts can no longer beat anymore?

What if one of your offsprings decide that they don’t want to follow racism?

What if one of your offsprings had a love in their hearts for Black people?

Instead of joining you, they join us instead. They get with one of us.

Imagine your grandchildren on that floor as a white grandparent.

Imagine them screaming for their last breath.

Screaming they can’t breath because a black cop has their knee pressed on your grandchild’s neck.

How would you feel?

To stand and watch your grandchild die right before your eyes?

And there’s absolutely nothing that you can do to help him or her.

How would you feel to come home and find out that your husband has been killed by a black police?

How would you feel after you’ve received news that your wife has been shot by black police officers for absolutely no reason?

How would you feel?

To watch a video of your family members or friends being tortured by police?

Sadly, you all will never know how it feels because you aren’t black.

You don’t know our pain.

You don’t understand how confused and afraid we are.

But I’ll tell you one thing

There will be an end.

We’re not going back to how the world use to be.

But we’re making a change.

We will be lifted up higher.

America will hear our voices.

America will understand our cries.

Because we can’t take it any more.

No more will African Americans fear for their lives.

We’re making a sacrifice for the new generation.

So that they won’t ever have to experience what we’ve experience.

Our new generation shall live in peace and unity.

So this is it. This is our final say.

You either treat us like human beings or you don’t.

And If you don’t, then we’ll fight for the treatment that we truly deserve.

Enough is enough.

Why is it when white people get arrested, their heads are held high.

Why is it when white people get arrested, they are peacefully put into a cop car?

But when we get arrested we are thrown onto the floor.

Why when black people get arrested, we’re choked to death.

We get shot to death. WHY?

Tell me.

What make you deserve more?

What make you scared of us?

This isn’t new.

We’ve seen it with George Stinney Jr,

Trayvon Martin, Ahmaud Arbery, and now George Floyd.

And we know he’s not the last.

So you either with us or against us.

This is where we stand up as one.

Because our lives are ending.

If nothing changes, we as black people, will be extinct.

Is this what you want?

Black people think about your children.

Does our little girl deserve this? Our little boy?

Make a change and make it today!

Because we are rising up by force.

We will be lifted High.

You have lit the fire inside of us:

And we’ll watch everything burn.

Until we are one.
